Dr. Sonjoy Chakraborty born in Noakhali district in 1973. Presently he is the Deputy Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh and before joining as Deputy Director, RPATC, Dhaka. He worked at Director BIDA, Prime Minister’s Office. He joined in BCS Civil Service (Administration) in 2001 in Barisal Division and worked as Assistant Commissioner/ Sr. Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate First Class in Bhola and then Chittagong. He worked as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Dumki (Patuakhali), Haluaghat (Mymensingh), Charfession (Bhola, Nalcity (Jhalakhathi) and Sreenagar (Munshigonj). He was the Additional District Magistrate and ADC (Education) in Rajshahi. Then he was posted as Deputy Director (Research and Development) in the Board of Investment. He obtained Bachelor’s (Hon’s) and Master’s Degree in the Economics from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Then he completed his Doctoral Degree from the same University. He also completed three other post-graduation degree from the various institutions. He also studied in South Korea, India and Turkey. In the mean time, Dr. Chakraborty’s 20 research paper have been published in various reputed national international journals on Economics, Business, Music and Langugae. He published a book named as Haluaghat Upazila: Etihash, Eaitijja, Sangskriti, Proshason from Ajkal Prokashani, Dhaka, Nov’11. In 2016, He has obtained Best Research award in International Conference on Business and Economics, Organized by Dhaka University, Bangladesh. He is honoured by the Honourable Prime of Bangladesh as the Second Best UNO jointly with Upazila Chairman and Upazila Education Officer in 2011 for the development of official activities from the country and abroad. He was the adjunct faculty of four Universities and the taught there economics and Business.
